A Few of My Favorite Things

1. My Cat, Nutmeg. She entered my life about three and a half years ago on a whim, and I can't imagine my life without her. She is currently living with me in Ponce as my ESA. While she prefers the warmth of Florida compared to cold New York winters, she does miss having an entire house to roam free in.

2. Film Camera. I have always had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember. My first digital camera was gifted to me at the age of 8 for Christmas. Like most hobbies I have acquired, I often desired to pursue them much sooner than I actually attempted to. I had been wanting to learn how to use film for several years before actually picking up the hobby. Now, three years deep, I am working as a photographer for this upcoming issue of Flagler's Strike Magazine, as well as doing professional paid shoots, nearly exclusively on film.

3. Yarn. Crochet was another hobby I wanted to pick up long before I did. My great grandmother had promised to teach me when I was around 10, but all plans to learn came to a fault when she had died not much later. It was not until the winter before Covid hit that I began to learn, primarily from the assistance of my ex roommate and Youtube University. Since then, I have made countless wearables for myself, and gifts for others.

4. Strike Magazine. Before the chapter was brought to Flagler, I received a DM on Instagram asking me to apply. Ultimately, I let my anxiety of not being talented enough take control and limit me from going after what I truly desired. The last issue of Flagler I managed to gather up the courage to apply, and I am so grateful I did. I had such a wonderful experience as a makeup artist, and am looking forward to pursuing photography this issue as well.

5. Gluten Free Peanut Butter Muffin. I used to hate baking, until I was hired as a Baker for Kookaburra, in Dondanville. I actually enjoy baking now, but I enjoy being able to take home extras to give away. Im allergic to practically everything under the sun, but I am able to eat the Gluten Free Peanut Butter Muffins, so I end up eating at least 3 a week.

6. My First Collage. Last semester I ended up discovering my love for collage, and fine arts in general, through my 2D art class. The class helped expand my knowledge and boost my creativity, as well as connect me to many talented individuals who I now consider my friends. I ended up changing my major to Fine Art from Psychology because of this class helping me to realize my passion for Fine Arts.
